Oh, hi there.
Quick post to say HOLLA.

Doctor Who ate my brain. I mean, really. This show is just so emotionally twisty and turny. God, I love it.

Burn Notice and SGA are coming back next week. Thank God, because seriously, have you seen what else is on? Five hundred thousand million channels and not a thing worth wasting one second watching. How did that happen? What is WRONG with this picture? Jaysus.

Two friends are coming into town this week: one, my BFF from COLLEGE. Her kids are probably like, my age or something now. I can't wait to see her. Two, a friend from London that I haven't seen in a while and was hoping to visit in London later this year and also hoping to see Love's Labour's Lost or whatever with David Tennant. "Pretty boy, you're with me." "Pretty? Me?"

Fundraising meeting tonight for my Cat Rescue group. Since I'm the Fundraiser and all I thought I'd solicit some help. I have an agenda and a strict time limit. Cat people can TALK.

Spain won the footie, HOORAY. Sorry Germany people.

Friday was a night of Free Drinks for Days, I'll have to tell you all about it sometime.... the view, the debauchery, the laughs, the hangover... I am too old for this shit.

This week. No, no, it's too much, let me sum up.
Monday: Book party for friend's book. He only worked on it for 17 years, for chrissakes. Free booze. Free food. Felt totally small potatoes but had husband to lean on for support. Hair at least looked good.

Tuesday: Met interesting girl for drinks to share seemingly same-interests. I'm totally not cool enough, but I amused myself at any rate. Spent 50 bucks for really great wine and food which I'll probably not recoup socially unless she happens to think I am cool enough for her. If not, it's okay, I'm overbooked anyway.

Wednesday: Spent part of workday in the pub with co-workers for the Germany-Turkey game (soccer, for you n00bs). Later, met former co-worker radio producer and current co-worker for ultra-hip super-scandalous gossip at Heathers Bar downtown and then hit the Back 40 for grass-fed burgers and deconstruction of said scandal. Spent a few bucks in the pub, and about 30 bucks at the Back 40. Again, not cool enough for this!

Thursday: Spent part of workday in pub for Spain-Russia game. SPAIN!!! HOMG! Later, met BFF at grand opening of new hotel on the Upper West Side since she works at the Wall Street Journal and so has to do all this "lifestyle" reporting and shit. Free booze, free RIDICULOUSLY tiny Tom Valenti horse-doovers or however you spell hors d'oeuvres. Spent $33 at new restaurant 'Vai' where we *only* waited an hour for our entrees and were never served the free "apology" wine we were promised. Since it's my BFF, I don't have to be as cool as she is.

Friday - tomorrow: Going with co-workers to former intern's bar after work to watch her work and hopefully she'll slip us free drinks. "Come right after work so you won't have to wait on the line," she says, "and don't wear jeans or shorts." UM. OK. Let's place a bet on whether or not I am cool enough for *this* swank bar scene. Let's also see if I can NOT spend over $30 on drinks. Christ!

Don't even ask me about my weekend. Yes, it's going to be insane. No, am I not young enough for this. Yes, I need a NAP.

G'nite!

Being a woman: still not so great
India
Baby girl deaths increase

The number of girl babies born and surviving in India has hit an all time low compared to boys. A report by ActionAid said increasing numbers of female fetuses have been aborted and large numbers of baby girls have been deliberately neglected and left to die. The report states that in one area of Punjab state, there are just 300 girls to every 1,000 boys among higher caste families. Some 10 million female fetuses have been aborted in India over the past 20 years.

Panic panic, manic manic
This Terrible Day is ending up a lot better. Crazy boss went crazy and cranky this morning when I was five minutes late. She wants me to be on time. I have no defense for this... I am a chronically late-to-work person. I can be on time for social events, oh yes, but not work. And on days like today, I really don't care.

My friend Crack Diva helped me make a cat video - some footage I shot of the cat adoption events, so that made me feel good. I can't wait to show it at the BBQ we're having this weekend.

Now I'm off to two fundraisers (my life is all about cat rescue, yes it is): a drinkfest at Town Tavern in Greenwich Village and then a comedy show at Broadway Comedy (a Daily Show writer is one of the featured spots).

And if anyone tries to get me out of bed before noon tomorrow, they are DEAD to me. DEAD.

Wut I gonna do at Con-TXT
Mainly for me - so I have the sked on the web, and for those who want me to report back to LJ on any particular topic!

Herein the Con-TXT sked, my plan in BOLD )

All of the above subject to change. I might change my mind, my roommate might change my mind, my fellow passengers might change my mind, I may start stalking some author I really like, I may get drunk at 10am and pass out for the rest of the day - you know, shit can happen.

See you when I return!

Since Iron Man was such a big hit in my previous post (f-locked because my face was in there too), I am going to pass on my usual work-related venting of rage and instead post another pic of him.

Aw, ind't he kewt?

Also, a special shout out to [info]literalman because he has gifted me and lo, it is good. I shall bring said gift to Con-TXT and be most thankful. I should give dating advice more often. Or actually, maybe not.

Okay, back to ye olde grindstone of suffering and angst, more popularly known as my job.

Oh the things you'd write!
I think I would write more if I had a good writing PLACE. Like a workstation that was cozy and private, and not in the same room as the television.

I also think I would write more if I had a laptop that I could sneak into bed with me. Bed is where I get most of my great ideas. And yes, there are reasons for that! Both of the perverted kind and the kind where my brain runs rampant at night, creating sentences that just don't come to me during the day.

If you had no money, yet wanted a laptop, just for writing - what would you do? Of course I'd love a Mac G5 to do video and blah blah, all the Mod Cons. But I am in the poorhouse and just need a thing to type on. I've grown tired of writing in my notebook because then it just stays there - it never gets to the intarwebz.

Any thoughts? Okay, must stop writing now, MTV Awards that my husband is watching is very distracting... yay Iron Man!

All that and a side of yucca potato fries
I'm trying my best, I really am! Do any of you ever feel like you're running on all cylinders, trying as hard as you can, and still, in many ways, getting nowhere?

I took a day off today to regroup after the last few weeks of shouldering a lot of responsibility and two serious international emergencies that made the Panic Junkies at work go nuts.

And I've not yet gotten a whole lot done. I'm stressing about the things I need to do so therefore I'm not even resting that much. DAMN IT. I really need a week off... the one thing I absolutely cannot have.

Lost Season Finale tonight. W00T.

Got new homes for 3 cats. Double woot. Dex, He-Man and Billy are all spoken for. And we raised almost 1,000 dollars this past Sunday at our adoption event in Columbus Circle where I had also organized a bake sale to help collect the $$$. Fundraising proceeds apace.

We'll be having some New York events this summer to raise funds (with alcohol and raffles and stuff), so if you live in the area and are interested in being notified - let me know! I'm beginning to set up a formal list for distribution of our newsletter and our fundraising events and our emergency appeals. And I know some of you are cat-lovers and have been very supportive of my work with Anjellicle Cats Rescue. Thank you.

Kitty pic of the day... This is Rock n' Roll: she still needs a home. AWWWW.

In non-cat news, I have really great friends. I had Sunday evening dinner and all day Monday at the Gramercy Tavern BBQ with both my husband and my good friend A2 and her girlfriend SuzyQ (the pro boxer). Also with us at the BBQ were Crack Diva from work and his boyfriend K. Crack Diva and A2 being some of the funniest, sweetest, most loyal friends I know -- it was a great Memorial Day for me. Including the success of the cat adoption event on Sunday and a day of attempted REST on Saturday and a lovely dinner with a lovely gal pal on Friday.

Last night, Crack Diva and I met 'Radio Gal' at a bar called Heathers downtown. One of those uber-hip, no-sign-on-the-door, lower east side bars. Yeah, I thought I was WAY cool (for a minute). Radio Gal is a great, great girl that I know from work, who quit to go and study social work - very admirable. She's also this sort of girl that I find attractive. The new me - the more openly sexual me - finds this amusing, especially now that I am happily married and cannot act on any attraction at any time. And not to mention that we are good friends, former co-workers, and she is in a serious het relationship.

Still... it interests me to find the idea of being attracted to her pop into my head. Must be too much L Word - of which I mainlined the entire last season last weekend... and WTF with the horrible season finale?? Dudes. Not cool. Although Shane? Still smoking hot.

All right. Enough of the nonsense of my life. What are you all up to? What wankfests have I missed? What great works of art in any of my fandoms MUST I read? Who has seen Indy and what do you think?

The end (for now).

Let's try to look ahead...
So I'm whining and moaning as usual about this work week, blah blah, you guys are asleep already. I am so tired! Wow.

Therefore, let's look ahead at some fun stuff that will happen in my life once this week-of-a-million-years is over.

BBQ on Monday! This is not just any BBQ. It's the Official Gramercy Tavern Memorial Day BBQ (Gramercy is the swank resty where my man works.) I plan to eat my body weight in food. And I weigh a lot. Diet starts Tuesday..

Israel this fall! We have to go see the man's parents, it's been two years now. (I've been on LJ a long time, haven't I?) So we'll be kibbitzing on the Kibbutz, hanging in Jerusalem, traveling around, hopefully getting to the Dead Sea this time. I love going away.

Con-TXT! I'm not as excited about this as I should be, but I'm GOING to be excited, dammit.

Well, enough of that, it's lunchtime.

Some stories.
As I commented to [info]entrenous88, who also had a recent OMG, cat's outside scare...

This AM, I woke up to my cat Tsa'atsua OUTSIDE the window - on the other side of the screen. All other screens were intact. I brought him in, he was covered with specks of blood and he was shaking and in shock. Apparently, the screen blew out or was clawed out by one of the cats (there are quite a few fosters here, too) and he fell out, then my husband put back the screen this morning without realizing he was outside.

Tsatsy obviously clawed his way back up a brick wall to get back to the sill. Luckily, I'm on the ground floor and he only fell one storey into the alley. He was not amused by his adventure and the vet put him on pain meds, antibiotics and gave me stuff for his wounds and some other stuff to calm him down. (He's not saying Boo Ya now, like he is in my icon, he's hiding under the bed, poor thing.)

So, big day. Big week, actually. This week my boss and the boss of editorial are away on mission. Boss is in Congo, Editor is in Panama, I'm NOT ANYWHERE REMOTELY INTERESTING. The editor-in-charge has a book edit due this week and I'm completely supportive of her personal book deal and its due dates, but it means she could care less about helping me with decisions. So I'm kind of feeling like, hey, too much responsibility here. Not like the fate of the world is in my hands or anything, but some big wig could get mad about something and pull some passive-aggressive or downright rude behavior and that would ruin my day.

"With great power comes great big piles of shit," or something like that.

Don't ask me how many cats are currently under my care. It's kitten season.

I'm starving, what's for dinner?

The Doctor and The Master and a Cat Named Sunny and some books
Yo 'Who' Dudes.

Whyncha go over to [info]versaphile's journal and encourage her to run a Doctor/Master ficathon thingy?

Even if you don't write, or can't write, or hate writing, or simply don't wish to froth my mocha decaf with sentences made of words... you'd read it, right? Well, hells bells, you should say so.

Here's Sunny in his new diapers. I know, I know, he's the baby I'm not having. You don't have to say it. He scoots around in these things (called "Peepers" and available on handicappedpets.com) and picks fights with the other cats and chases mouse-toys and kittens. It's pretty awesome.

I'm feeling better tonight after some retail therapy. I indulged in a little cheap-clothes shopping and bought three books:

Perdido Street Station - to replace the one I lent a friend and never saw again.
Number 9 Dream by David Mitchell
The Story of the Night by Colm Toibin (He wrote "The Master" one of my favorite contemporary novels.)

What sayeth you all?

Someday I’m gonna get back to melting your face with sentences full of words. Yeah. Until then...

THINGS YOU PROBABLY ALREADY KNOW ABOUT ME:

* If I can’t find what I’m looking for within two minutes of clicking into a site, I leave. You sites with lots of flashy ads and music and shit? Don’t even. My cat may love it, my eyestrain does not.

* If a person can’t get to the point of their phone call within 20 seconds, I ask them to call me back or I cut them off and gently ask them what they want from me explicitly. What do you want from me???

* People who don’t move into the train in the subway? Are the DEVIL. People with big backpacks who won’t move into the train and instead block the doorway? Are the devil incarnate. MOOOOVE.

* If a fic is Part 43/? I won’t bother. Unless it is rec’ed by someone I trust and only then will I read it once it’s finished. If I remember.

* If a fic is Jack/Ianto, rated G, I won’t read it unless I know the author. Jack/Ianto says SEX, I think. And I want to read SEX. Character pieces, okay maybe. But probably not.

The most interesting (read: stupid) things keep popping up in my inbox.
I started to read this memo...

The long awaited UN**** House Elevator Modernization project is underway !!!!!! [italics NOT mine]

We have serious elevator issues. You wait forever for an elevator and then you feel like you may never get off, ever again. So yay, modernization. BUT, then I kept reading...

The project is slated to run into 2009 and will be implemented in two phases.

UH, SORRY?

Phase one will take approximately 6 weeks to complete and will entail periodic outages of one elevator car at a time.

Okay...

Phase two will Immediately follow and is projected to take approximately 57 weeks to complete. At this point, each elevator car will be taken out of service for approximately 14 weeks.

WHAT? 57 weeks! What?

Unfortunately this also means that throughout the course of the project we will be operating at 75% of our elevator carrying capacity.

NO SHIT. So, 25% more lame than usual? I didn't think such a thing was possible.

Staff should expect delays in service, especially during peak usage times;
Mornings - 8:30AM to 9:30AM
Lunchtime - 11:30AM to 1:30PM
End of the Day - 4:30PM to 5:30PM

Thanks for putting the TIMES in, in case we weren't sure when LUNCHTIME was. Gawd. *headsmack*

We apologize for this inconvenience, and thank everyone for their cooperation & understanding.

I don't think they really mean that.

[from Reuters]

CNN now sued for $1.3 billion - $1 per person in China

A Chinese primary school teacher and a beautician have filed a suit against CNN in New York over remarks they say insulted the Chinese people and are seeking $1.3 billion in compensation -- $1 per person in China, a Hong Kong newspaper reported.

The case against the Atlanta-based cable channel, its parent company Turner Broadcasting and Jack Cafferty, the offending commentator, comes after 14 lawyers launched a similar suit in Beijing alleging that Cafferty's remarks earlier this month violated the dignity and reputation of the Chinese people.

Cafferty said the United States imported Chinese-made "junk with the lead paint on them and the poisoned pet food" and added: "They're basically the same bunch of goons and thugs they've been for the last 50 years".

CNN said Cafferty was expressing an opinion about the Chinese government, but the Foreign Ministry demanded an apology and accused the network of trying to drive a wedge between the Chinese people and leadership.

Oookay then. Let's start with the basics. I feel like I haven't been an active participant of Live Journal for oh, about a loooong time now. Slow computers at both work and home really detract from quality LJ time, let me tell you. So sometimes I'm reading but not commenting, because the back button is the bane of my cyber existence.

News: The Pope is in the house. He's not like, HERE, on my lap or anything, because that would be awkward. He was across the street and now I think he's off to Yankee Stadium or some other nonsense. Crack Diva put a white napkin on his head at lunch to commemorate the event.

Wearing: A purple and brown geometric print wrap dress with brown tights and brown boots.

Cats: 8. Frannie went to her new home last night and it was all cute and awesome and she is adorable and we'll miss her. Dex (as in Ronon, yes), is a big boy and he is rumbling with the other cats. This is problematic. We'll see how he feels after he gets his balls cut off on Monday. Goldie has been renamed Pogo because she bounces around and around and around. She is adorable. Disabled kitty is on again, and will be at my house soon. *gulp*

Writing: Oh, yeah, writing. A couple of things. Ready? Here goes.
1. Owen gets his life back and has sex with everyone ('cept Gwen).
2. Future Spike learns that Buffy is alive and looking for him from a mysterious man with a penchant for leather wristwatches and long overcoats. (Don't know where this came from.)
3. My [info]tragedyoptional piece. The Shep-less team has found the town where they will soon discover their John Sheppard -- an amnesiac and a gypsy. Yes, you laugh NOW, but it's angsty, ok?
4. McShep AU with Rodney as Eddie Izzard and John as a movie star. I need to talk to someone with knowledge of 'movie set' details -- help me! Rodney will also be in drag the first time they have sex.

Reading: Forever by Pete Hamill (comparisons to "New Amsterdam" are inevitable but entertaining)

Silliest LJ Entry Awards Nom [nom nom nom]
I don't think I've ever been nominated for anything award-wise. Oh sure, I get "most laughable behavior at the party" nods all the time. But this is different.

I think one time a Teyla/Cadman femslash fic was nominated in a Diversity Awards thing, but I'm not entirely sure about that and what happened there.

So I sort of consider this my first:

 SGA Kink Awards Nominee, 2008

It's for "Always Full of Thirst," that same fic that at my first SGA fangirl gathering, [info]barelybean said to me, "oh, you're the one who wrote that Ronon-John-Rodney threesome with the Wraith enzyme." I was so happy, I just sat there and nodded and smiled while the conversation went back to MPREG and BDSM utopian societies.

It was a tiny glimpse of what a BNF must feel on a daily basis. Remember the days of the BNFs? How people used to fight about them, who was one, who was the BFF of the BNF and so on? Now we're all about racism and feminism and what-do-we-watch-when-our-shows-are-on-a-fifty-year-break. Times have changed y'all.

I have a new UN organization I'd like to present: UNFRIC, United Nations Friday Celebrators. We bring peace to war-torn offices with Friday shenanigans. Think of the possibilities for international reconciliation!

Kitten Conf: update
At the vet's where I was picking up the new fosters, they told me, "oh no, there's been a mistake. Sonny (the paralyzed kitty) most likely has a permanent home so if it's okay, we won't give him to you."

I'm happy for Sonny and sort of relieved, but I would have done it - given him quality of life and found him a home and everything! But yeah. Also relieved because it's a lot of work when a cat can't really use the litter box on their own. :(

So I got "Uni" and "Goldie." Needless to say, they NEED NEW NAMES. Adoption is all about marketing, baby. Okay, maybe not, but still.

Any ideas??? They are both brown tabbies. Uni is male and Goldie is female. Goldie has a little orange in her, and Uni has a golden brown undercoat which gives him a little bit of a glow. He also has muscular shoulders! I'm thinking "Callum" for Uni after Callum Keith Rennie. I dunno.

Last night I dropped off Captain Jack and Toshiko at their new home. **SOB** It was really, really hard. I loved those two so much. I easily could have kept them and Owen and lived happily ever after. But that's too many permanent members.

And look at the kitties being happy in their new home... )

Toshiko's new name is Rabbit, so they're Jack & Rabbit. I love it!

Writer-type people, go fix this!

It's over at [info]scribblinlenore's journal. Especially people like <"you know who you are"> who know a lot about sex toys, bondage and/or play, and are up on all the latest gizmos and doo dads.

I *will* start whining and crying if there is no porn.

Ashes to Ashes shout out..
Is anyone else watching (or done watching) Ashes to Ashes?

[It's the spin-off of Life on Mars, yes indeed.]

The first ep was STUNNING. Opening up the second episode gave me chills; my nipples actually got perky. That's how fantastic this show is and how utterly insanely gorgeous it is. Keeley Hawes, wow. Philip Glennister, hi there you incredible bastard.

Anyone out there excited about this too?

Today was a very bad, no good day. Phhht, Day, you suck!

But I relived my SGA Love: 'why you should watch the show' by Lilysaid in pictorial form.

The high-res goodness is enough to make anyone's day.

I want to go home tonight and roll around in fandom. But I can't. I have friends to see, cats to tend to and stuff. *shakes fist at universe*

This boring post brought to you by: UNICEF (This would never happen at Save the Children).

Things
I'm feeling better. Thanks for the good vibes, friends.

Yesterday's "Bad Friday" party was good fun. My friend's (I often refer to him as Crack Diva) apartment in Brooklyn is very well appointed and there was wine and food and champagne and several folks smoked their weed and had a good time. When Crack Diva kicked us out because his boyfriend is sort of anti-social, several of us walked to a Brooklyn bar called Frank's, a total dive bar with red banquettes and old black men hunkered down over the bar, and drinks that were actually priced like normal drinks (and not the usual Manhattan $$). I loved it.

THEN I went to a party in Manhattan - also people from work - which I enjoyed much less because it's the "International" group and I'm from the editorial group, and I don't speak Spanish or French or Chinese and don't have visa issues and so forth. I'm not saying they're snobs, but they are. Ha ha. Plus I had been drinking all day, so was tired. Essentially I left the apartment at 1pm and returned at 1am. I hadn't had an actual meal, and so around 4am I felt the call of the porcelain god. OVERSHARE!

I don't even know what time my husband got home - he was out with Gramercy Tavern folks, doing shots of whiskey. I had to drag my carcass out of the apartment at 10am to do a cat delivery -- Gwennie and Ianto to some super nice folks out in Bay Ridge. Gwennie and Otis (he's no longer a Welshman), were thrilled to be with so many new toys and new spaces and a lovely six-year-old girl and sunlight all over the place. I was very happy.

Battlestar Galactica Top Ten List...

if you haven't already seen it. Not that I needed anymore reasons to watch. Yippee! April 4!

SGA finale reax: Far-Fetched Feminism?
I commented briefly to my male colleague at work today that I didn't care for the SGA season finale. He said, "oh wow, I thought you'd love all that McKay and Sheppard stuff." He knows I love the boys, but not, of course, to what extent I love them (and their super-secret gay love). I mentioned I thought that particular trope had been done elsewhere and better, etc.

"Plus, all the women died," I said.

"Everybody died, that was the point," he said, "except for McKay." ("And Sheppard," I added).

"Well, a lot of my women friends didn't like it because they just went off and killed all the women," I said.

"Where did they come up with that far-fetched feminist interpretation?" he asked -- pretty snottily, I must say.

My head wanted to explode, but he left the room and I just got on with my work.

So tell me, f-list and SGA-ers: what gives? Is our reaction a far-fetched feminist one? Do I have a right to be a little bit pissed off or I am just overreacting? (Due to my feminist hormones, I'm sure! *eyeroll*)

...limited run
These kids are fantastic. A lip sync of Rihanna's "Umbrella" -- everything you want in your basic college media class + gay boys lip synch with cultural references! One continuous camera shot!

My parents left this morning. *sad* I stood in the hallway with a little orange kitten, waving her paw at them. They LOVED the kittens and didn't give me a hard time about all the cats. They said they really admired what I was doing, so that gave me a boost. I'm sad about delivering all of them this weekend (Owen went to his new home last weekend, AWWWWWW). No more of the tiny ones! It's going to be so hard.

So I made this icon, which fits in with the whole kitten thing, and also the way I view Jack/Ianto. A limited run. I know a lot of people out there are Jack/Ianto OTP forever and ever shippers. But this can't be, can it? We know that Jack will go on... and on... and Ianto won't. And this is bound to be an issue in their relationship soon. In fact, it's clear that Jack has his eye on others -- most notably Gwen. And I think it's pretty evident that Ianto feels more for Jack than just a fuck buddy.

Time will tell. For everthing there is a season, and all that. Goodbyes are hard. This is what is on my mind today.

I made the same icon with other, more positive wordage, and will share soon. Also, is Torchwood on tonight? [info]ahab99 you screwed me up! *sticks out tongue* But your mom is adorable, so you win.

Off to "cover" an event at the Hearst Towers. Lucy Liu will be there, but otherwise, it's likely to be pretty boring. And when I get home, [info]lycheemusing will be crashing my pad, drinking my wine and petting my kitties! Aiee!

Elephants, cats
This is an amazing photo essay on elephants in Asia. Apparently the photog used to do work for UNICEF. There's a book party tonight, but I can't go (see previous entry). Too bad because I'm really wowed by these photos.

And for you kitten fans, here's an adorable picture of OWEN, my little love that I have to bid farewell to *sniff* and GWENNIE, who makes a snuggly pillow and is such a sweet little girl.

OWEN! *weeps*

(DIS)appointments
This week is nothing but appointments.

Today - saw the doctor, got antibiotics for a possible sinus infection. ARG. If it's not a sinus infection, I don't want to take them, but I guess there's no test or anything to know for sure?

Today - saw the psychiatrist. He says we should keep an eye on my depression to see if it's related to my many recurrent illnesses or something to worry about. I'm down with that. I just want to ENJOY things again. Anything, really. I'm not picky.

Tomorrow - 7:30am. Is the buttcrack of dawn and also, apparently, my emergency sonogram. My gyno says nothing to worry about AND YET is making crazy about me getting an appointment NOW NOW NOW. Not confidence-building, gyno, but I appreciate your diligence on my breast mass, yes I do.

Tomorrow - after work, gotta take the teen-cats to the vet for a follow up on their ringworm AND make appts. for their spay/neuter.

Tomorrow - director coming to the house to vaccinate the kittens and give me sulfur-lime dip for the rampant ringworm.

Wednesday - taking my foster cat, Cali, to be spayed. She's a great mom, but, well. Poor thing. Also Weds. have two hours cleaning cages in the cat room of my organization.

Thursday - take kittens to be tested and pick up Cali. Hopefully I won't be kept waiting for a year and a day because I have to get to work, but when the vet is doing rescue work, they don't mind keeping the volunteers waiting. Phhht.

Friday -- enjoy my FIVE YEAR ANNIVERSARY. Yay. Who knew I'd last this long? Not me.

Saturday -- deliver my sweet baby Owen to his new owners. In Nassau County. Why don't my neighbors want to adopt kittens??? At least they're picking me and Owen up. I have my kleenex handy for all the crying. I really love that little guy.

Saturday night: my parents arrive. God almighty.
.
Meanwhile -- what WAS that on SGA? Weirdest finale or whatever I've ever seen. Or maybe I wasn't in the best mood to watch it. Tell me what I should think! I need help!

TW means tallywhacker
Torchwood icon. Not so much a spoiler for plot as for penis. Not entirely safe for work. Comment, credit if you want to snag...

Not so family-friendly, BBC! )

Upon re-examining them *cough*, I think I may try again with color-correction so they are less pink. I also caught some amazing screencaps from last night's ep, will try to post them in this journal for sharing, if there's interest.

Edited to add:

yes, it is a pink plastic penis, damn )
